Pansy Boy is an imaginative autobiography, with stunning graphics and rhyming couplets. Out in the natural world, a boy is in awe of its beauty. Birds in flight amaze him. School squats at the end of summer. He is fey, and bullies aren't comfortable with that. They attack him. How can he defend himself? In a rhyming poem, the story comes to life in vivid graphic art. The boy takes strength from the flowers he loves. Where bullies pinned his life with their hate, he plants a pansy. The power of his actions empowers his school to value what is delicate and different. The book comes complete with a personal field guide to the flowers that adorn and the birds that fly across its pages.

'Beautifully illustrated.' --The GuardianBeautiful, heartfelt, uplifting ... Pansy Boy is a story of childhood innocence told through stunningly detailed illustration. --James Wong, Botanist

This book is beautiful, both in its message and also the incredible illustrations. If you'd like your child to grow up to understand tolerance and how some people are just born different, then this is the book for you. Just gorgeous.

Lovely poem, incredible illustrations but most importantly a subtle, thought provoking and important message. Perfect gift for all ages.

We bought this book for our 8 year daughter and since receiving it yesterday we have found her reading it several times. The story is an important and poignant one to tell, but the true beauty of his book is the incredible illustration. Children and adults alike in our house have been mesmerised by the colourful detail of birds and flowers, as well as learning new facts from the notes sections at the end. I highly recommend this book and look forward to any more by the same author.

A touching story told through a melodic poem and stunning illustrations that you could lose yourself in for hours. This would be a lovely present for anyone of virtually any age, I'm keeping mine though!

An incredibly well written and thought through book, which I would recommend all young families have a copy of in their home!

Pansy boy is a delight! The story is beautiful crafted and the illustrations draw you into a magical world of flaura and fauna so delicately composed. My 8 year old son said he had fallen head over heals with the book! Me too! A book to treasure and revisit over generations x
